Doorthread privacy policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Doorthread is a Discord bot operated by Standard Computing LLC, a US company ("we"). This policy explains what the bot collects, why, who processes it, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted. Contact: wallace@standardcomputingllc.com.
What we collect
From server owners and staff who set up Doorthread:
- The Discord server ID, the IDs of the channel and staff role chosen at setup, and the Discord user ID of whoever last ran setup.
- The text the owner gives the bot to answer from (sales page or FAQ text) and their checkout link.
From members who open a Start here thread:
- Their Discord user ID, the thread's ID, the questions they send through the bot's Ask a question form or the
/askcommand, and the bot's answers. We do not store display names. The bot does not read messages typed directly into the thread; the owner's staff can see those in Discord as usual. - When they open the checkout link through our redirect: that a click happened, when, on which server and thread, and the country it came from. We do not store IP addresses or set cookies on the redirect.
Usage counts and events for each server: installs, setups, threads opened, questions, answers, questions refused at a limit, requests for a human, and checkout clicks, with the server and thread IDs. They contain no message text and no user IDs.
Visits to this website: the page, the site that linked to it, and the visitor's country. No cookies, and no IP addresses stored.
The bot does not read messages outside the threads it opens, does not send direct messages, and does not use any privileged Discord intents.
Why
- Owner text and settings: to answer members' questions and show the checkout link and staff handoff the owner chose.
- Questions and answers: to answer follow-up questions in the same conversation. Not used to train AI models.
- Usage counts and events: to show the owner
/stats, to enforce the beta's limits, and to improve the product.
Who processes it
- Discord, which carries all messages (Discord's own privacy policy applies to your use of Discord).
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, database, analytics, and the AI model that writes answers (Cloudflare Workers AI), which receives the owner's text and the member's question to generate each answer. Cloudflare's terms say this content is not used to train models.
- Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry): error monitoring. When something goes wrong, the bot or this website sends Sentry an error report: the error, where in our code it happened, the IDs of the server and thread involved, and for the website the page's address without its query and the browser's user-agent (its name, version and operating system). Error reports never contain user IDs, IP addresses, messages, questions, answers, the owner's text or anything else people wrote.
We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.
We are in the United States, and Cloudflare and Sentry store and process this data in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where the law requires safeguards for that transfer (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or Brazil's LGPD), we rely on their data processing addendums, which include the standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Questions and answers: a daily job deletes them 30 days after they are written. A thread keeps only its last 6, so older ones go sooner.
- Owner text and settings, members' thread records (user ID and thread ID), and the server's daily counts: until the owner deletes them with
/forgetor removes the bot from the server. They are deleted 30 days after the bot is removed (a grace period in case it was removed by accident). - Usage events and website visits: about three months, after which Cloudflare deletes them.
- Error reports: at most 90 days, after which Sentry deletes them.
- The bot's answers posted in Discord stay there, under Discord's control, until the server's owner or staff delete them.
Your rights and deleting your data
Server owners can delete everything we store for their server at once with /forget all, or one member's thread record with their questions and answers with /forget member. Any member can ask us to delete their questions and user ID: email wallace@standardcomputingllc.com with your Discord user ID and the server. People in the EU, UK and other places with data-protection laws (including Brazil's LGPD) can also ask to see or correct their data; we answer within 30 days.
Children
Doorthread is not for servers aimed at people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above.
